AB La visualización es un campo de investigación de creciente importancia en educaciónmatemática. Sin embargo, el estudio de su naturaleza y relación con otras formas de registro y comunicaciónde información continúa siendo tema de reflexión. En este trabajo proponemos una manera deentender el lenguaje y el pensamiento visual, y sus relaciones con el lenguaje y pensamiento analítico,usando las herramientas teóricas del «enfoque ontosemiótico» del conocimiento matemático. Mostraremosque la noción de «configuración visual» de objetos y procesos, con sus diferentes modalidadescontextuales, permite articular diversas perspectivas sobre la visualización, comprender sus relacionescon otras formas analíticas de expresión y reconocer diversos grados de visualización de la actividadmatemática
AB Visualization is a research field of growing importance in mathematics education. However,the study of their nature and relationship to other forms of information recording and reportingcontinues to be a subject of reflection. In this article we propose a way of understanding the languageand visual thinking, and their relations with the language and analytical thinking, using the theoreticaltools of the «onto-semiotic approach» to mathematical knowledge. We will show that the notion of«visual configuration» of objects and processes, in its various contextual forms, allow articulate differentperspectives on visualization, to understand its relationships with other analytical forms of expressionand to recognize different levels of visualization in mathematical activity
