In 2015, the UN's2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development became a majorglobal milestone. Local governments, due to their proximity tocitizens, play a crucial role in achieving the SustainableDevelopment Goals (SDGs). However, in Spain, the disclosure ofsustainability information is voluntary and influenced bysocioeconomic and political factors. This study analyses datafrom 102 municipalities between 2016 and 2021. The resultsshow a growing commitment to the SDGs, especially after theCOVID-19 pandemic, with larger municipalities, female mayorsand left-wing governments showing higher SDG disclosure. Thisresearch advances our understanding of local governmentsustainability eefforts and their determinants.
