AB The effect of integrated and organic managementon the levels of dehydrogenase and alkalynephosphomonosterase (EC 3.1.3.1) activities wasdetermined in a horticultural soil during a four year croprotation, finding no statistically-significant differences. Sincesoil tillage and fertilization were similar, the absence ofeffects suggests that the well-reasoned use of small rates ofagrochemicals in the integrated management for weed andpest control may have negligible effects on soilmicrobiological activity.
