RT Journal Article T1 Power-series solution of compartmental epidemiological models A1 Srivastava, Hari M. A1 Area Carracedo, Iván Carlos A1 Nieto Roig, Juan José K1 Compartmental epidemiological model K1 Power-series solution K1 COVID-19 K1 Numerical approximation AB In this work, power-series solutions of compartmental epidemiological models are used to provide alternate methods to solve the corresponding systems of nonlinear differential equations. A simple and classical SIR compartmental model is considered to reveal clearly the idea of our approach. Moreover, a SAIRP compartmental model is also analyzed by using the same methodology, previously applied to the COVID-19 pandemic. Numerical experiments are performed to show the accuracy of this approach PB AIMS Press SN 1547-1063 YR 2021 FD 2021 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10347/26805 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10347/26805 LA eng NO Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering 2021, 18(4): 3274-3290. https://doi.org/10.3934/mbe.2021163 NO The work of the second and third authors author has been partially supported by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI) of Spain under Grant MTM2016-75140-P, cofinanced by the European Community fund FEDER, as well as by Instituto de Salud Carlos III, grant COV20/00617 DS Minerva RD 1 may 2026
