T1 Métodos numéricos para la ecuación del transporte en una dimensión

AB [ES] Supongamos que queremos diseñar la red de gaseoductos de nuestra ciudad, con elobjetivo de conocer, entre otras cosas, qué cantidad de gas debemos introducir en la red ypor dónde, para conseguir que lleguen las cantidades correctas de gas a cada vivienda de laciudad. Pues bien, este y otros muchos problemas se modelan matemáticamente mediantela ecuación del transporte. Dicha ecuación, que en breve presentaremos, en muy pocoscasos se puede resolver mediante cálculos elementales, por lo que debemos recurrir a laimplementación de métodos numéricos que nos faciliten el trabajo. Así, primero consideraremoscasos sencillos donde el problema se resuelve de forma analítica y, a continuación,analizaremos varios métodos numéricos y sus diversas características, como son convergencia,consistencia, estabilidad, etc., con el objetivo de comprobar si se adaptan a nuestrasnecesidades, y los compararemos entre sí para decidir con cual quedarnos en función de loque necesitemos.
AB [EN] Let us suppose that we want to design the gas pipeline network of our city, with theaim of knowing, among other things, how much gas we should introduce into the networkand where, in order to get the right amounts of gas to each house in the city. Well, thisand many other problems are mathematically modelled using the transport equation. Thisequation, which we will shortly present, can only be solved in very few cases by means ofelementary calculations, so we must resort to the implementation of numerical methodsthat facilitate our work. Thus, first we will consider simple cases where the problem issolved in an analytical way, and then we will analyze several numerical methods and theirdiverse characteristics, such as convergence, consistency, stability, etc., with the objectiveof checking if they adapt to our needs, and we will compare them with each other to decidewhich one to use depending on what we need.
