AB La estadística está presente en todos los ámbitos de la vida, incluyendo deportes como elbaloncesto. Gracias a esta disciplina, ligas como la NBA generan grandes cantidades de dineroal año y optimizan diferentes facetas del juego. Este trabajo se centra en el estudio del salario delos jugadores de la liga de baloncesto americana en la temporada 2020-2021, a través de ciertascaracterísticas como la edad o características de su juego. El objetivo principal es el de, mediantela teoría de los modelos de regresión, aplicar los conocimientos de los métodos lineales, así comointroducir métodos no paramétricos buscando una aplicación práctica e interpretable de los datosrecogidos, con el propósito de ver cuales de las características son las más influyentes y las quemás información aportan a la hora de predecir los sueldos. Además se estudia si existen casos quesupongan irregularidades en el planteamiento de estos modelos y sus posibles interpretacionesanalizando jugadores que están siendo pagados por encima o por debajo de su sueldo estimado.
AB Statistics is present in all areas of life, including sports such as basketball. Thanks to thisdiscipline, leagues like the NBA generate large amounts of money per year and enhance differentfacets of the game. This work focuses on the study of the salary of players in the Americanbasketball league in the 2020-2021 season, through certain characteristics such as the age, theBox Plus/Minus or the value over replacement player. The aim of this study is to apply linearmethods, as well as non-parametric methods. In this way, a practical and interpretable applicationof the collected data is carried out, with the purpose of seeing which of the players' characteristicsare the most influential and the ones that provide the most information when predicting salaries.In addition, we study whether there are certain cases that involve irregularities in the approachof these models and their possible interpretations by analyzing players who are being paid aboveor below their estimated salary
