While transplantation offers a potential cure, its success is often hindered by hypoxia-induced graft loss, immune rejection and the systemic toxicity of immunosuppressive drugs, which significantly limit its widespread application. To address these challenges, this thesis explores the development of multifunctional theranostic polymeric nanocomposites designed to enhance transplantation outcomes. By integrating nanotechnology into diabetes management, this work aims to bridge the existing gap in the field, offering a step forward toward safer and more effective therapeutic solutions for T1D.
