AB The aim of this work was to know the current situation of psychomotor skills and corporal expression in Early Childhood Education centers and the degree in teacher training, determining if this one can influence the practices they carry out in day after day in the classroom. A quantitative and descriptive research is designed, using a questionnaire as a data collection instrument. 29 teachers from 15 educational centers of the province of Pontevedra (Galicia) participate in the study. It´s registrated a low level of psychomotor work and corporal expression in Early Childhood Education centers, and the results indicate that at this stage the responsible teachers of teaching these matters are the own tutors (who have a deficient training in this area) and, in the second cycle, Physical Education specialists usually develop part of the sessions. The plans of study of the degree in teacher of Early Childhood Education would have to contemplate a greater formation in the psychomotor field and of corporal expression, to form tutors with more competence. Also, the specialists in Physical Education should have specific knowledge in Early Childhood Education to improve their intervention in the stage
AB El objetivo de este trabajo fue conocer la situación actual de la motricidad y expresión corporal en los centros de Educación Infantil y, a su vez, el grado de formación que poseen los maestros, determinando si esta puede influir en las prácticas que llevan a cabo en el día a día en el aula. Se diseña una investigación de carácter cuantitativa y descriptiva, empleando un cuestionario como instrumento de recogida de datos. Participan en el estudio 29 docentes de 15 centros educativos de la provincia de Pontevedra (Galicia). Además de registrar un escaso trabajo psicomotriz y de expresión corporal en los centros de Educación Infantil, los resultados nos indican que los docentes encargados de impartir estas materias son los propios tutores (que tienen una formación deficitaria en esta área) y, en el segundo ciclo, los especialistas en Educación Física suelen desarrollar parte de las sesiones. Los planes de estudio del grado en maestro/a de Educación Infantil deberían contemplar una mayor formación en el ámbito psicomotriz y de expresión corporal, para formar tutores con más competencia. También, los propios especialistas en Educación Física deberían tener más conocimientos en Educación Infantil para mejorar su intervención en esta etapa
