AB El reconocimiento legal del derecho de desistimiento respecto de los contratos de crédito al consumo constituye una de las mayores novedades que la Ley 16/2011 dictada al respecto introduce dentro del paquete de medidas destinadas a la protección del consumidor en la fase de ejecución del contrato. A lo largo de las líneas que siguen se procederá a realizar un análisis de tal figura que, sin duda resulta esencial por cuanto este tipo de contratos, tan presentes en la sociedad actual, entraña un alto riesgo de sobreendeudamiento para el consumidor que, quizás desconocedor de los entresijos de esta figura contractual y sus consecuencias, firma el contrato de crédito sin detenerse a considerar qué obligaciones asume tras la misma, o sin haber sido, tal vez, debidamente informado al respecto.
AB The legal recognition of the right of withdrawal in respect of credit agreements for consumersis one of the biggest news that the Law 16/2011 issued in this regard introduced into the package  of  measures  destined  for  consumer  protection  in  the  implementation  phase  of  the  contract. Along the lines that follow will proceed to realize an analysis of such a figure that, undoubtedly it turns out to be essential because these type of contracts, so prevalent in today’s society, contains a high risk of indebtedness for the consumer who, perhaps unfamiliar with the intricacies of this contractual figure and its consequences, signed the credit agreement without stopping  to  consider  what  obligations  assumed  after  it,  or  without  having  been,  perhaps, properly informed.
