dc.description.abstractThe thesis focuses on advancing energy transition and sustainability. It investigates the factors that might affect households to adjust energy consumption. It also proposes demand side management strategies in the smart grid. These strategies provide benefits for energy consumers and the electric grid by reducing electricity costs, extending the lifetime of local energy systems (solar panels and energy storage systems), and enhancing grid stability. Besides, it proposes approaches for raising awareness about the role of energy consumers in enhancing energy transition and sustainability and training future engineers to enhance their knowledge and skills in line with technology development.es_ES
