Abstract

The thesis addresses the study of new carbon-based materials and their applications in the field of energy conversion. This study delves into the development of new metal-carbon hybrid electrocatalysts, which play a key role in improving the efficiency and sustainability of various energy conversion technologies. The main objective of this thesis is to develop a methodology for the electrochemical exploitation of precious metals for applications related to the electrolysis of water and urea, as well as fuel cells. To this end, a new class of hybrid carbon nanostructures will be developed to support electrochemically active metallic nanostructures that will act as catalysts for energy conversion.
