A study of the beliefs of university students about learning english as a foreign language (EFL)

Abstract

This research project looks at the beliefs of the students and teachers at the University of Santiago de Compostela about learning English as a Foreign Language. In an attempt to frame the study better within the university context, it also briefly explores the opinions of the subjects about learning subject content through English. The data presented was collected via questionnaires and interviews over the years 2018-2019.

Este estudio explora las creencias de un grupo de estudiantes y profesores de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela sobre el aprendizaje del inglés como lengua extranjera (ILE). Para enmarcarlo mejor en el contexto de la universidad, también analiza de forma breve las opiniones de los participantes sobre el aprendizaje en inglés de contenidos de diferentes cursos y materias. Los datos que se analizan se recogieron mediante cuestionarios y entrevistas durante el curso 2018-2019.
