Abstract

Agrammatism has been the object of study of different fields for centuries now. As an abnormal manifestation of language, its study can provide interesting information about language itself, its organisation and production. Far more than what its name indicates, agrammatism is a complex phenomenon that does not discard grammar but rather manifests it in ways that differ from the norm. This study focuses on verb inflection in English agrammatism, more specifically -ing inflection, extracting conclusions that point towards a feature-checking impairment in certain verb related aspects, partly coinciding with previous studies carried out by Arabatzi and Edwards and Faroqi-Shah and Thompson, also summarised here.
