La difusión del patrimonio bibliográfico del Ministerio de Defensa

Abstract

El patrimonio bibliográfico de Defensa proporciona información sobre la administración y gestión de los ejércitos y la Armada, su actividad científica, cultural y formativa y su participación en los avances tecnológicos a lo largo de distintas épocas y es fundamental para los investigadores en áreas como la historia o las ciencias sociales y, así, difícilmente se puede entender la Ilustración española sin bibliotecas como la del Real Observatorio de la Armada. Sin embargo, este patrimonio es muy desconocido y, por ello, el Ministerio de Defensa ha puesto en marcha varios proyectos, entre los que se encuentran Bibliodef, el catálogo colectivo de la Red de Bibliotecas de Defensa, la Biblioteca Virtual de Defensa y el Portal del Patrimonio Cultural de Defensa, con el objetivo de difundir este patrimonio de la manera más amplia posible. Para ello proporciona, además, acceso a las obras digitalizadas bajo la licencia CC0 1.0 que permite su reutilización sin restricciones

The bibliographic heritage of Defense provides information on the administration and management of the armies and the Navy, their scientific, cultural and training activities and their participation in technological advances throughout different periods and it is essential for researchers in areas such as history or social sciences and, thus, it is difficult to understand the Spanish Enlightenment without libraries like the Libray of the Royal Observatory of the Navy. However, this heritage is very unknown and, therefore, the Ministry of Defense has launched several projects, among which are Bibliodef, the union catalog of the Defense Libraries Network, the Digital Library of Defense and the Portal of the Cultural Heritage of Defense, with the aim of disseminating this heritage in the broadest possible way. To do so, it also provides access to digitized works under the CC0 1.0 license, which allows its reuse without restrictions
