dc.description.abstractPhysiological aspects were evaluated to determine optimal conditions for the decolorization of a synthetic dye, Poly R-478, by white-rot fungus Trametes versicolor # 52J. The decolorization experiments were carried out in semicontinuous operation during three cycles to improve the process efficiency. The best decolorization efficiencies (65% to 80%) were obtained in fungal cultures performed in nitrogen limited conditions under aerobic conditions.gl
