Abstract
El desarrollo de metalofármacos derivados de carborano es un campo reciente con prometedoras aplicaciones médicas, debido a las peculiaridades que presenta este clúster.
Como contribución, se diseñó la síntesis de distintos ligandos derivados de nidocarborano, todos ellos funcionalizados con una base de Schiff (C=N) en uno de los carbonos del clúster. La presencia de estos grupos potencialmente dadores (N) combinado con las propiedades del nido-carborano, ayudarán a la coordinación de centros metálicos.
El ligando imina nido-B1 es monodentado y se obtuvo por deboronación del derivado closo, obtenido a su vez mediante la reacción aza-Wittig. Se estudió su capacidad coordinativa con precursores de rutenio. El ligando imina nido-B2 fue obtenido de forma análoga. Presenta dos unidades similares a la imina nido-B1 conectadas por un espaciador aromático, por lo que es bidentado (N, N). Se estudió su capacidad coordinativa con precursores de rutenio y paladio. Los ligandos imina nido-B3 y B4 son análogos al B2 pero con un conector alifático. Esta variante no permitió obtener los derivados closo por la reacción aza-Wittig, por lo que no pudieron ser obtenidos.
The development of metallodrugs derived from carborane is a recent field with promising medical applications, due to the peculiarities that this cluster presents. As a contribution, the synthesis of different ligands derived from nido-carborane was designed, all of them functionalized with a Schiff base (C=N) on one of the carbons of the carborane cluster. The presence of these potentially donor groups (N) combined with the properties of nido-carborane, will help the coordination of metal centers. The imine ligand nido-B1 is monodentate and was obtained by deboronation of the closo derivative, obtained in turn by the aza-Wittig reaction. Its coordinative capacity was studied with ruthenium precursors. The imine ligand nido-B2 was obtained in an analogous way. It presents two units similar to the nido-B1 imine connected by an aromatic spacer, so it is bidentate (N, N). Its coordinative capacity was studied with ruthenium and palladium precursors. The nido-B3 and B4 imine ligands are analogous to B2 but with an aliphatic linker. This variant did not allow the closo derivatives to be obtained by the aza-Wittig reaction, so they could not be obtained.
