Abstract

In this PhD thesis we have developed methodologies for the synthesis of functionalized dienes using synergistic Cu/Pd catalysis. The first approach involves the synthesis of silylated 1,4- dienes from allylic carbonates and (Z)-silyl substituted allyl alcohols. The next approach is a Cu/Pd catalyzed alkenylboration of alkynes with alkenyl bromides and bis(pinacolato)diboron. Using this strategy was possible to synthesized stereofedined syn-1-boron-1,3-dienes. Furthermore, we have developed a three-component transformation between alkynes, bis(pinacolato)diboron and vinyl epoxides for the synthesis of bifunctional 1,4- borylated dienes. Finally, an efficient methodology for the synthesis of borylated 1,5-dienes has been described. This transformation consists in a three-component allyl-allyl cross-coupling between bis(pinacolato)diboron, allenes and allyl carbonates.
