Abstract

We study cohomological operations within the context of local algebra, first by extending Mehta's operations and then through the Hopf algebra structure on certain Tor modules. Using these results, we give a powerful descent of regularity result for non-noetherian rings. Additionally, we study the ascent and descent of the complete intersection property by introducing three new clases of homomorphisms.
