Plantas utilizadas en medicina humana y veterinaria en el municipio de Triacastela, Lugo(NW España)

Abstract

Se presentan los resultados de un estudio etnobotánico centrado en el uso medicinal humano y veterinario en el municipio de Triacastela, Lugo (Galicia, NW España). En total se han recopilado 58 taxones de plantas vasculares y un hongo. La mayoría de las especies inventariadas se emplean exclusivamente en humanos, mientras que sólo el 5% son destinadas exclusivamente a animales. En ambos casos predominan las preparaciones de uso interno sobre las de uso externo. Las dolencias más frecuentemente tratadas están relacionadas con el aparato digestivo, el sistema respiratorio y para el tratamiento de golpes y contusiones. Como aportaciones más significativas en el ámbito geográfico en el que se encuentra el área de estudio, se han identificado 11 nuevos usos en terapéutica humana y tres en medicina veterinaria y se ha catalogado por primera vez el uso medicinal de Allium ursinum L. en la Península Ibérica

We present the results of an ethnobotanical study focused on plant-used in human and veterinary medicine in the Municipality of Triacastela, Lugo (Galicia, NW Spain). A total of 58 taxa of vascular plants and one mushroom were collected. Most of the species recorded are used exclusively in humans while only 5% are recommended for animals. In both cases, preparations for internal use predominate over those for external use. The most common ailments treated with herbal medicinal preparations were related to the digestive system, the respiratory system and the healing of blows and bruises. Considering the studied area in the Iberian context, the most significant contributions of this study concern 11 new applications reported for human medicine and 3 for veterinary purposes, as well as the first record of Allium ursinum L. as medicinal plant for humans in the Iberian Peninsula
