Abstract
[EN]The lagoons have diverse functions as those related to the hunting: the lagoon as a place for the hunting of aquatic birds, drinking trough and wildlife refuge. A small farm pond can attract and even maintain several species of wild game. A lagoon can be an improvement of the habitat for the game species by restoring an existing one or creating a new one (digging up or constructing a dam in a stream). In both cases, a belt of grasses will be implanted and additionally the bottom of the lake will be sown. The quality of the lagoon is enhanced if trees and bushes not very close to the shore exist. The construction or renewing of a lagoon must be accompanied by auxiliary facilities to improve the access to the hunters (informative posters, life-guards in the border, barrels, cottages, docks and other hunting positions, hides for wild game inventories, bird calls) and facilities to improve the capacity of bird reception (duck baskets for the egg-laying). Some of the maintenance operations in the lagoon are the periodic dredged of the sediments accumulated at the bottom, the harvest of the vegetation and the control of the water level.
