Abstract
Using personal and private content from the candidates is an increasingly common trend in Political Communication, in Spain as well. This descriptive, interpretative and comparative research aims to dwell on the relationship that takes place between the presentation of those discursive elements and the interaction they promote with the audience. Therefore, we will propose a four interaction levels’ scale by using YouTube statistics. This will allow us to determine in a sample of 23 politicians, if citizens are more likely to watch personal stories of candidates or, conversely, they prefer political party contents. The research shows that the videos with personal accounts earn, on average, twice reproductions and they raise ratings and comments also twice, in comparison with those that include political and partisan contents. In the opposite situation, they obtain less dissemination through this social network (YouYube). On top of that, the number of comments they receive and the number of participants that make these contributions are lower too
