We study the existence, localization and multiplicity of positive solutions for a nonlinear fourth-order two-point boundary value problem. The approach is based on critical point theorems in conical shells, Krasnosel’ski˘ı’s compression-expansion theorem, and unilateral Harnack type inequalities
